Sun Meal Launches Free Weekly Meal Box Program for Children Across Concordia, Grant, Catahoula, Tensas and LaSalle Parishes
Summer initiative ensures nutritious meals for children 18 and under every Monday starting June 16, 2025
Clayton, LA — Sun Meal, in partnership with Childtrition, is proud to announce the launch of its Free Summer Meal Box Pickup Program for children ages 18 and under. Beginning Monday, June 16, 2025, families can pick up weekly food boxes containing 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches at select sites in Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, Catahoula and Tensas Parishes. Meal boxes will be distributed every Monday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM through the summer months.
The goal of the program is to ensure children continue receiving nutritious meals even when school is out. The initiative is made possible through USDA support and is completely free of charge to families.

Who Is Eligible?
All children aged 18 and under, regardless of income level, are eligible to receive a meal box. There are no applications or identification requirements. Boxes are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
“Summer should be a time for kids to relax and grow—not worry about where their next meal will come from,” said a spokesperson for Childtrition. “We are proud to support Sun Meal in ensuring families have access to the food their children need to thrive during the summer months.”
